Violent clashes erupted in Silwan town in Occupied Jerusalem between local residents and Israeli police forces late on Tuesday.
The confrontations broke out after Israeli forces stormed the town amid heavy firing of teargas bombs.
At least one young man was detained during the events.
Since the early morning hours of Tuesday tensions have been rising high in Silwan town after dozens of Jewish settlers protected by police officers seized a plot of land owned by the Greek Orthodox church in the area.
The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the appropriation of “al-Hamra” land by the Jewish settlers considering it “a new Zionist crime and part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to Judaize Jerusalem expel its residents and tighten the noose around the Aqsa Mosque.”
