Clashes flare as Israel army cracks down on anti-occupation youth

Wednesday 18-April-2018

Violent clashes burst out at daybreak Wednesday between Palestinian anti-occupation youth and heavily-armed Israeli patrols after the latter rolled into Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzoun.

According to local sources Israeli army troops stormed Azzoun and wreaked havoc on civilian homes.

Palestinian anti-occupation protesters responded by hurling Molotov cocktails toward the Israeli patrols.

Israeli soldiers broke into the home of the Abu Haniya family and ravaged the building in the hunt for their son Omar. Other neighboring homes were also ransacked by the occupation army.

At the same time Palestinian young man Mohamed Abu al-Naji was kidnapped by the Israeli forces from his home.

Eye-witnesses said seven Israeli patrols stormed Wadi al-Fer’a camp and raked through residential neighborhoods before they kidnapped the young man.

Overnight the occupation army tightened military grip at the Beit Furik checkpoint east of Nablus blocking Palestinians’ access out of and into the area.

Meanwhile the Israeli military has tightened the noose around the neck of Palestinians in Nablus’s towns of Beit Dajan and Beit Furik as part of a collective-punishment agenda perpetrated across the occupied West Bank.
