Clashes broke out on Tuesday evening between Jerusalemite youths and Israeli police forces after the latter harassed Muslim worshipers outside the Aqsa Mosque detained three young men and cut off wires of loudspeakers at the Islamic holy site.
According to the Hebrew media angry Palestinian youths hurled stones at three buses carrying Jewish settlers as they left al-Buraq Wall plaza at the Aqsa Mosque’s western wall.
The Israeli occupation police raised the ire of the local residents in the holy city after they cut off wires of loudspeakers at some minarets of the Aqsa Mosque in order to please Jewish settlers who asked for silencing sounds of Adhan (call to prayer) and Qur’an recitations.
Earlier in the evening police officers also seized Ramadan fasting meals in the Bab al-Asbat area near the Aqsa Mosque and expelled Palestinian volunteers distributing them from the area.
