Dozens of Palestinians suffered from tear-gas inhalation on Friday evening as clashes broke out with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Aida refugee camp north of Bethlehem.
The clashes erupted when IOF troops attacked Palestinians near the Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque with tear-gas and sound bombs.
In Occupied Jerusalem Israeli police forces tightened restrictions on Palestinians’ access into the Old City and al-Aqsa Mosque.
Eyewitnesses reported that dozens of youths were briefly detained and searched in the Bab al-Amoud area.
Meanwhile clashes broke out in Biddu town northwest of Occupied Jerusalem after Israeli forces violently suppressed a Palestinian rally calling for the release of the withheld bodies of Palestinian martyrs.
The local residents demanded the immediate release of three local youths’ bodies held in Israeli morgues after being killed by Israeli gunfire last September.
Israel is currently holding the bodies of at least 88 Palestinians who were killed by the IOF for allegedly carrying out or attempting attacks on Israeli targets since September 2015 and is refusing to return them to their families.
This causes immense suffering to the families as they are unable to bury their loved ones and perform the mourning rituals.
