Violent clashes broke out between local young men and Israeli soldiers in Nabi Saleh town west of Ramallah city on Wednesday evening.
Local sources said that local young men blocked roads and threw stones at soldiers as they entered the eastern area of the town.
The troops in turn showered the young men with live ammunition and tear gas leading to suffocation among many of them.
The sources added that the military force established a roadblock at the eastern entrance to the town and embarked on searching vehicles and interrogating passengers.
