The Palestinian Commission for Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs has strongly denounced member of the Knesset Oren Hazan for breaking into a Red Cross bus on Monday and bullying relatives of Gazan prisoners aboard it.
In press remarks head of the commission Issa Qaraqea held the Israeli government fully responsible for the lives of prisoners and their families stressing that such racist practices happen at the behest of top political and military officials who recently incited against detainees in Israeli jails and their relatives.
Qaraqea appealed to international human rights groups to intervene to protect the prisoners and their families against Israeli violations warning that any passive attitude towards such a “crime’ would embolden other Israelis to follow suit.
