The Popular Conference of the Palestinians Abroad was launched on Saturday morning in the Turkish capital of Istanbul with the participation of thousands of Palestinians living in 50 different countries.
In his opening speech head of the conference’s preparatory committee Hisham Abu Mahfoud highlighted the importance of the role that could be played by the Palestinians abroad towards their national cause stressing that no one has a mandate over the Palestinian people.
Abu Mahfoud described the efforts to hold the conference as a sincere expression of the determination of the Palestinian people living abroad to extract their inalienable rights and achieve their aspiration to return to their homes and liberate their land.
He also called the conference “a turning point in the history of the Palestinian people and an important opportunity to renew and invigorate the spirits on the path of liberation and return.”
“The Palestinian question is undergoing historical moments in light of increasing challenges and dangers but our people’s sacrifices are ongoing” he said.
