The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Saturday that 26 deaths and 1520 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded after conducting 5007 examinations during the past 24 hours.
Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health confirmed that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 88.1 percent while the rate of active infections reached 10.8 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
Kailah stated that the new infections were distributed geographically to 438 cases in the Occupied West Bank and 1064 in the Gaza Strip.
16 new deaths were recorded in the West Bank while 10 deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip the minister added.
She noted that the new recovery cases were distributed as follows: 812 cases in the occupied West Bank and 600 cases in the Gaza Strip.
The minister said that there are 190 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 50 who have been placed on ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination campaign Kailah said that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 140481 including 12471 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
