Al-Khalil Reconstruction Committee announced that it was able to win an Israeli court ruling ordering settlers to leave the Abu Rajab family home in al-Khalil within a week.
Israeli settlers occupied two weeks ago the Abu Rajab home located near the Ibrahimi mosque in the old section of al-Khalil claiming they own the building.
The Abu Rajab family contested the takeover and claim of ownership which it said was forged.
Tawfiq Jahshan the committee’s legal counsel told PIC that after the committee and the Palestinian home owners filed a petition before an Israeli court against the settlers who occupied the building the Israeli public prosecutor ordered the settlers to leave the building voluntarily within a week or they will be evicted by force.
Jahshan said the building is located in a strategic zone and its takeover by settlers would have created a very dangerous situation for Palestinians living in that area.
