GAZA (PIC)– Victims of the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip rose to 56 Palestinians after the death of an elderly patient Sunday evening in light of warnings that the death toll would double if the Israeli blockade was not lifted.
Palestinian medical sources announced that Mustafa Sulaih 55 from the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip died of liver failure after the Israeli occupation authority prevented him from traveling to receive appropriate medical treatment abroad due to its siege and closure of the crossings.
The mother of Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri the Hamas spokesman died Saturday evening after suffering from a brain stroke for days. She was blocked by IOA from traveling to receive treatment abroad while a six-year-old Palestinian girl suffering from brain atrophy also died for the same reasons on Sunday evening.
The specter of death is threatening a long list of Gaza patients who suffer serious and chronic diseases because of not receiving appropriate medical treatment lack of medicines or because of the Israeli siege which bans the traveling of Gaza patients to receive medical treatment abroad.
