GAZA (PIC)– A Palestinian old man and a youth were declared dead on Tuesday as a result of inability to travel abroad for treatment due to the Israeli siege on Gaza and Egypt’s continued refusal to open the Rafah border terminal.
The Palestinian health ministry said in a statement that 76-year-old Ibrahim Abu Deheir and 21-year-old Fadi Abul Najja have died after long suffering serious illnesses.
It pointed out that Fadi was seriously ill after inhaling white phosphorus fired by the Israeli occupation forces during their war on Gaza.
They had all necessary papers prepared for their travel but were denied permission the ministry said noting that the number of Gaza siege victims thus rose to 300 including nine who died since the start of this month.
It warned that lives of hundreds of other seriously ill Palestinians were at risk unless the Rafah border terminal was swiftly opened.
