Demonstration in Khan Yunis against US Jerusalem move

Friday 9-March-2018

Palestinian national and Islamic factions in the southern Gaza Strip province of Khan Yunis organized a demonstration following Friday prayer in protest at the US president Donald Trump’s decision to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The participants chanted slogans condemning the US decision and affirming that Jerusalem is a red line that cannot be crossed.

The Hamas leader Yahya Mousa in a speech on behalf of the Palestinian national and Islamic factions in Khan Yunis denounced the US biased policy and stressed the importance of achieving national unity to be able to defend the Palestinian identity.

Adnan al-Assar who is in charge of the information committee of the Palestinian national and Islamic factions in Khan Yunis said that the US recognition of Jerusalem as its capital and its plan to move the US embassy there on 15th May clearly indicate that the US fully supports the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.

Al-Assar asked the UN General Assembly to pressure the US to reverse its Jerusalem move and called for launching popular protests at the US embassies around the world to force it to backtrack on its unjust decision against the holy city.
