Palestinians in al-Khalil city took to the streets on Friday in protest at the closure of Seddit Kelkus Street by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) for the past 17 years. Meanwhile IOF soldiers were deployed in the area and fired teargas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
The participants who staged a protest sit-in demanding the opening of the street chanted slogans against the continuous closure of the street and complained about hindering the traffic of citizens who have to take long bypass routes in order to reach downtown.
Palestinian families in al-Khalil underlined that the IOF troops ban ambulance teams from accessing some neighborhoods adjacent to the street area.
