Detained PLC speaker taken to hospital for urgent surgery

RAMALLAH (PIC)– Dr. Aziz Dwaik the PLC speaker was carried to the Ramle prison hospital to undergo an urgent surgery to remove stones from his kidney reliable sources reported.

They said that he suffered acute pain over the past few months and the prison doctor had endorsed the need for an operation to remove the stones but the prison administration was procrastinating.

Dr. Dwaik’s wife said that she was supposed to visit her husband on Tuesday but his transfer to hospital caused her visit to be cancelled and added that she called his lawyer Sana’a Dwaik who affirmed to her the news of his transfer to hospital.

Dr. Dwaik who has been in Israeli custody for 27 months along with 40 other MPs and ministers suffers a number of health problems including hypertension.

Meanwhile the mother of the 10-month-old prisoner Yousef hoped that the Red Cross and other institutions concerned with human rights to allow father of the child and his relatives to see him.

Fatema Al-Zak who gave birth to her baby in captivity said that he was deprived of family visits ever since his birth.

In the West Bank IOF troops rounded up 15 Palestinians at dawn Monday in various areas the Israeli army radio said adding that they were wanted for questioning.

A 16-year-old boy was also kidnapped by the IOF soldiers in Zabuba village west of Jenin last night during an incursion locals said adding that other minors were also taken from the village recently at the pretext they were trying to harm the racist separation fence running adjacent to the village.

In the Gaza Strip IOF warplanes and reconnaissance planes intensified their flights over the Strip last night and Monday morning spreading fears among the inhabitants that they might launch raids.
