Deterioration in health condition of the prisoners Mohammed Taj Youssef Masalha

NABLUS GAZA (PIC)– Prisoner Mohammad Rafiq Kamel Taj suffers from a lack of oxygen in his blood according to Tadamun while Masalha suffers various ailments without getting the necessary medical attention according to Ahrar.

Muhamed Taj 42 who has been suffering since ten days from lack of oxygen in his blood and shortness of breath was taken to Israeli hospital Kfar Saba for medical examinations Ahmed Betawi a researcher at the Foundation confirmed.

Betawi pointed out that Taj underwent chest X-rays and other blood tests but he did not receive the results of these tests and do not know any information about his health condition.

The Israeli occupation forces arrested Taj from Tubas on 2003 where he serves a prison term of 14.5 years.

Betawi said that Taj fought an open-ended hunger strike in the middle of last March which lasted for two months demanding to be considered as a war prisoner and he still suffers till this day from pain in the stomach and another problem in the eye due to this strike.

Meanwhile Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights appealed the international organizations and MSF to intervene immediately in order to release the prisoner Yousef Awad Masalha or to provide him with the necessary medical treatment.

The center said in a statement that Masalha 47 from the Gaza Strip and who has been detained since 1993 suffer several illnesses due to the Israeli medical neglect. He is suffering from heart disease and a cartilage injury in addition to serious problems in his lungs and foot preventing him to walk.

Masalha’s wife told Al-Ahrar center that her husband detained in Nafha prison called on prison administration to provide appropriate treatment to end his suffering but no response and no appropriate treatment was provided.

Um Yassin said that she is worried about her husband’s serious health condition and feared the condition would get worse calling on international organizations to work for the release of her husband or to send private physicians to check his health situation.
