Dozens of Palestinian citizens choked on tear gas on Saturday evening when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Kafr Qaddum east of the West Bank city of Qalqilya and violently quelled the village’s weekly demonstration against the settlement.
Activist Murad Shtewi said IOF soldiers in large numbers raided Kafr Qaddum and attacked the demonstrators with tear gas canisters and live ammunition.
The IOF further broke into Palestinian homes and wreaked havoc on them according to Shtewi.
Every Friday and Saturday the residents of Kafr Qaddum take to the streets to protest Israel’s ongoing settlement expansion on their lands and to call for opening the village’s main road which has been closed for about 16 years.
