Dozens injured as clashes renew across West Bank Gaza

Tuesday 12-December-2017

Dozens of Palestinians were injured as clashes renewed across West Bank and Gaza Strip in protest against US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Several protesters suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling teargas fired by Israeli occupation Forces (IOF) while storming al-Bireh city. Journalists were among the injured persons.

In Ramallah a large protest was organized as part of the wave of anger that recently swept the occupied Palestinian territories following Trump’s decision.

Similar clashes were reported in Salfit where a 15-year-old boy was shot and injured with live ammunition.

IOF claimed that the injured minor was planning to commit a stabbing attack against Israeli soldiers.

Tight military restrictions were imposed at the entrances to the city following the incident.

In al-Khalil dozens of students suffered breathing problems after inhaling teargas fired by IOF soldiers in Palestine Technical University in al-Arroub camp to the north of the city.

Meanwhile 40 Palestinians were injured ten of them with rubber bullets when confrontations erupted in al-Khudari University west of Tulkarem.

The clashes broke out when IOF soldiers violently stormed the university amid heavy firing of teargas bombs and rubber bullets.

Along the same line a Palestinian child was injured with live ammunition in Nablus while another live shot injury was reported east of Khan Younis in Gaza Strip.
