Dozens of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank were wounded on Friday in confrontations with Israeli soldiers while protesting Israeli escalated settlement plans.

In Nablus Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at Palestinian youths in Beita town after they performed the Friday prayer on the outskirts of Jabal Sobeih.

At least a young man suffered gunshot injuries while many suffered from teargas inhalation during the clashes.

IOF soldiers were deployed in large numbers in the area preventing Palestinians from reaching Jabal Sobeih area.

Since the start of the anti-settlement protests in Beita town in mid-June 2020 nine Palestinians were killed and hundreds more were injured.

Similar clashes broke out in the nearby town of Beit Dajan east of Nablus during which the IOF fired a barrage of teargas bombs.

At least 44 citizens were treated for tear-gas inhalation during Beita and Beit Dajan clashes.

Meanwhile IOF soldiers fired tear gas rubber-coated bullets and live ammunition at crowds who were taking part in anti-occupation protests in Kafr Qaddoum village wounding dozens of protesters including a child.

On a weekly basis Palestinians hold demonstrations against illegal Jewish settlements in different parts of the West Bank especially in Beita Beit Dajan and Kafr Qaddoum villages.

Israeli and Palestinian estimates indicate there are about 650000 settlers living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts in the West Bank including in Occupied Jerusalem.

Under international law all Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are considered illegal.
