Dozens of Palestinian cars sabotaged walls graffitied in Galilee

Tuesday 11-February-2020

A group of Jewish settlers at dawn Tuesday infiltrated into a Palestinian village in the Galilee region of northern Israel and sabotaged several cars and defaced walls of buildings with graffiti.

Local sources in al-Jish village in the Galilee said that settlers slashed tires of more than 70 Palestinian-owned vehicles and spray-painted racist graffiti on some of them and on walls of homes and a mosque.

Such acts of vandalism or sabotage by settlers in al-Jish are not unprecedented and happen with impunity local sources said.

According to human rights groups incidents of sabotage and violence by extremist Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their property are a daily occurrence in Palestinian areas including Arab towns and villages in Israel.

However Israeli law enforcement authorities exhibit extreme incompetence in addressing such widespread occurrence of settlers’ crimes.

The vast majority of investigation files regarding harm to Palestinians and their property are closed due to deliberate police failure to investigate properly. The deficiencies and flaws in the work of the Israeli police are clearly noticed at every stage of an investigation when the victim is a Palestinian citizen.
