Dozens of injuries reported during Friday marches

WEST BANK (PIC)– Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday as Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) violently suppressed the peaceful weekly marches in Ramallah and Qalqilia in the West Bank.

43 injuries including three rubber bullet injuries and 39 teargas suffocation cases were reported as clashes broke out in Kafer Qaddum town in Qalqilia province the Palestinian Red Crescent said.

The clashes erupted when Israeli forces stormed the town and brutally suppressed the anti-occupation march with teargas bombs and rubber bullets causing several injuries.

In Ramallah dozens of protesters including foreign activists suffered breathing problems after being targeted with teargas bombs during Bil’in weekly march.

Local sources affirmed that IOF soldiers fired teargas bombs and rubber bullets at the anti-settlement march in Bil’in village which led to several injuries among the peaceful protesters.

Dozens of nearby olive trees were burned due to the excessive use of teargas bombs.

The peaceful march kicked off in the village amid large participation of local foreign and Israeli activists holding Palestinian and South African flags and banners calling for ending the Israeli Apartheid policies.

Also in Ramallah Israeli forces brutally suppressed the anti-settlement march in Ni’lin village.

Local sources affirmed that Israeli forces fired teargas bombs at the march causing several injuries among the participants.

The march was organized just after Friday prayers in protest against Israeli apartheid wall.

WEST BANK (PIC)– Dozens of Palestinians and foreign activists were injured on Friday after Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) brutally suppressed anti-occupation weekly marches throughout the West Bank.

Two live shot injuries were reported during clashes that erupted at the northern entrance of Bethlehem south of the West Bank the PIC reporter said.

Israeli forces violently suppressed the Kafer Qaddum weekly march with rubber bullets and teargas bombs injuring many of the peaceful protesters which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.

Local activist Murad Sheteiwi affirmed that IOF soldiers stormed the town escorting a military bulldozer amid heavy fire of teargas bombs.

Hundreds of Palestinians and foreign activists have participated after Friday prayers in the weekly march chanting anti-occupation slogans.

Similar clashes broke out in Bil’in town west of Ramallah when Israeli forces attacked the peaceful weekly march with rubber bullets and teargas bombs once the protesters approached the apartheid wall.

Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli soldier was injured after being stoned in his head during the clashes.

During the march the participants held photos of the U.S. activist Rachel Corrie marking the 13th anniversary of her death after being crushed by an Israeli military bulldozer in 2003 while trying to prevent a Palestinian home demolition process in the Gaza Strip.

In Nablus IOF soldiers detained five Palestinian youths from Awarta town for several hours before their release under local pressure.

Local sources affirmed that the five youths were picnicking in the area before being detained and investigated by the soldiers.

Large number of residents headed to the area and pressured the Israeli soldiers to release them.
