Dozens of Jewish settlers on Wednesday morning desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem under police escort.

According to the Islamic Awqaf Department at least 53 settlers entered the Mosque through al-Maghariba Gate in different groups and toured its courtyards under police guard.

Some settlers also tried to perform Jewish prayers in the eastern area of the Mosque.

Meanwhile 23 police officers entered and toured the Mosque’s domed prayer buildings.

The Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers and police forces in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Israeli police close al-Maghariba Gate which is used by Jews to enter the Mosque at 10:30 am after the settlers complete their morning tours at the holy site. Later in the afternoon the same gate is reopened for evening tours by settlers.

During the presence of settlers inside the Mosque compound entry restrictions are imposed on Muslim worshipers at the entrances leading to the Mosque and their IDs are seized until they leave the holy place.

According to local sources at least 100 settlers and rabbis toured the Mosque’s courtyards in different groups and some of them recited Jewish prayers especially in the eastern area.

The Israeli occupation police who have no jurisdiction over the Aqsa Mosque also issue or extend arbitrary entry bans ordering Jerusalemite citizens and figures not to enter the Islamic holy site for weeks or months.

Recently after the Islamic Awqaf authority in Jerusalem reopened the Aqsa Mosque to Muslim worshipers following its closure for over two months as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus the Israeli police intentionally intensified the banishment of Palestinian citizens from the Islamic holy site.

During recent weeks Aqsa entry ban orders were issued against dozens of Jerusalemite figures Aqsa employees and activists.

Such illegal policy is believed to be part of practices aimed at allowing Jewish settlers to perform rituals without Palestinian opposition and paving the way for the Israeli occupation state to control the holy site.

Dozens of Jewish settlers on Monday morning desecrated the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards under police guard.

According to the Islamic Awqaf Authority in Jerusalem the Israeli police closed the Mosque’s Maghariba Gate at 11 o’clock in the morning after at least 56 settlers toured the Islamic holy site’s courtyards.

Eyewitnesses from the Awqaf Authority reported seeing some settlers performing Talmudic rituals during their tours at the Mosque.

They affirmed that three officers from the Israeli intelligence also defiled the Mosque in the morning.

Scores of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated under police guard the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards in groups on Sunday morning.

Local sources told Quds Press that dozens of special police forces were deployed throughout the Mosque’s courtyards before allowing in settlers through al-Maghariba Gate.

They affirmed that over 70 settlers toured the Mosque for about four hours in the morning and some of them blatantly performed rituals on the eastern side of the Islamic holy site.

Meanwhile the Israeli police prevented many Jerusalemite citizens from entering the Mosque during the settlers’ tours in the morning.
