Dudeen holds Netanyahu responsible for any failure to reach swap deal

Wednesday 8-April-2020

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Dudeen has held Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu fully responsible for the Palestinian prisoners’ lives and any failure to reach a new prisoner swap deal.

In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) Dudeen said that Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar’s recent remarks about the possibility of making concessions on any future prisoner swap deal reflected the great responsibility being shouldered by the Palestinian resistance towards the Palestinian prisoners.

“We are not talking about an initiative but rather about the resistance’s willingness to be flexible in a specific part about the issue of the captive Israeli soldiers if the occupation showed a real and serious intention to deal with this file” Dudeen stated.

“The ball is in the court of the occupation and everyone now knows what Abu Ibrahim (Yahya Sinwar) has talked about” the Hamas official said affirming that “there is no need to send the initiative through mediators and that the Israeli side can respond to it tomorrow.”

He also pointed out that “the resistance has showed real flexibility and a serious willingness to deal with the arrangements of a new deal on condition of honoring the previous deal.”

He reiterated his Movement’s rejection of the renewed imprisonment of many prisoners who were released as part of the 2011 swap deal or making their issue part of any new deal.
