Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Aziz Duwaik has called for allowing the PLC to convene to give the national reconciliation agreement its approval and blessing.
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) Duwaik stressed the need to let the PLC hold its sessions and described it as “the first step for the national reconciliation.”
He affirmed that he and other lawmakers submitted a request to the political leadership to bring back the legislative life to the Palestinian political system and let the PLC take its role in consolidating the reconciliation.
The speaker said that the Palestinian reconciliation agreement that was signed in Cairo recently was a national entitlement and not an achievement adding that “the Palestinian people are anxiously waiting for steps improving their living conditions.”
