The European Union(EU) has renewed its belief that Israel’s settlements and settlement activity in occupied Palestinian territory are illegal under international law and erode prospects for lasting peace.
“The EU calls on Israel to end all settlement activity in line with its obligations as an occupying power” EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said in a statement.
Her comments came after the US administration on Monday blatantly voiced support for Israel’s settlements in the occupied West Bank considering them no longer illegal under international law.
