ROME (PIC)– Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini has announced that the delegation of European foreign ministers had postponed a planned visit to Gaza Strip.
He said in a press statement in Rome on Saturday that the delegation was supposed to visit Gaza late this month but deferred the trip till early September.
The Italian chief diplomat explained that the visit should be adequately prepared for describing it as a “sensitive mission”.
He added that Israel had guaranteed the foreign ministers would be allowed to enter the coastal enclave without any conditions on its part.
Frattini said that the visit aims at getting first hand information on the humanitarian conditions of the Palestinians living under siege for almost four years in the Strip.
