Egyptian authorities on Sunday banned the travel of over 100 students from Gaza Strip after arriving at the Egyptian hall at the crossing and finishing all required procedures after meeting with security officials.
Special sources told the PIC reporter that a state of outrage and tension prevailed at the crossing especially among passengers of humanitarian needs. Most of those students who were banned from travel had to stay for long hours waiting for being allowed to pass.
The Palestinian Embassy in Cairo had earlier called on Palestinian students whose name are registered for travel to head to Rafah crossing on Sunday the second day of opening it exceptionally.
