The Egyptian authorities at daybreak Friday closed the Rafah border-crossing with Gaza following an exceptional four-day opening.
The Commission of Crossings and Borders said the Egyptian side bolted the crossing after they had opened it over the past four days to allow pilgrims who came back home from Saudi Arabia to enter the enclave.
The commission added that 2823 Palestinian pilgrims reached Gaza through Rafah over the past four days.
The Egyptian authorities have kept Rafah border-crossing Gaza’s sole passageway into the outside world blocked since March.
