Egypt re-opens Rafah crossing Monday

Monday 27-August-2018

Egypt on Sunday announced that Rafah crossing will be opened for five days starting Monday for the return of Palestinian pilgrims.

According to official media sources the border crossing will be opened on 27th and 31st August and 1st 2nd and 3rd September.

The same sources said that the crossing will be closed on 28th 29th and 30th August without giving reasons.

Only pilgrims are allowed to pass through Rafah crossing during these five days while work will be resumed at the crossing starting 4th September.

Palestinian General Administration of Borders and Crossings on Saturday announced that Rafah crossing will be opened on Sunday after a one-week closure because of Eid al-Adha holiday but later some Egyptian media sources reported that the move will take place on Monday.
