The Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah border crossing with Gaza Strip on Monday in both directions.
Iyad al-Bozom the spokesman for the interior ministry in Gaza said on Sunday night in a terse statement that the Egyptian authorities informed his ministry on Sunday evening of the closure decision.
The Rafah border crossing is open all days of the week in both directions except on Fridays and Saturdays.
