A senior official from the Egyptian intelligence on Friday phoned the leadership of the Hamas Movement and condemned the failed attempt to assassinate chief of the internal security forces Tawfiq Abu Naim wishing him a speedy recovery.
The official also conveyed the Egyptian intelligence’s solidarity with Abu Naim and the Hamas Movement according to a press release issued by the Hamas media office.
For its part the Hamas leadership expressed its thanks to the Egyptian intelligence for its keenness on the stability in Gaza and its support for the Palestinian people.
Head of the internal security forces in Gaza General Tawfiq Abu Naim sustained moderate wounds from an explosion seemingly next to his car in central Gaza on Friday.
The security authorities have launched an investigation into the incident in order to identify the perpetrators.
