A high-level delegation from the Egyptian intelligence agency on Wednesday evening arrived in the besieged Gaza Strip through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.
According to official sources an Egyptian security delegation led by senior intelligence officer Ahmed Abdul-Khalek the official in charge of the Palestinian file arrived in Gaza to meet with officials from the Hamas Movement.
The delegation intends to discuss with senior Hamas officials the efforts underway to firm up the last truce understandings between the Palestinians in Gaza and Israel.
Recently an Egyptian security delegation visited Gaza in an attempt to defuse the tension and have the Israeli punitive measures lifted.
On August 30 Hamas announced that Egyptian Qatari and UN efforts had managed to contain the tension and stop Israel’s military aggression against Gaza.
