Ekrema Sabri: Repeated storming of Al-Aqsa is playing with fire

Wednesday 20-April-2022

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ekrema Sabri described Israel’s continued raids into Al-Aqsa Mosque and the repeated incursion by its settlers as “playing with fire.”

In press statements on Wednesday Sabri stressed the importance of maintaining vigil inside the holy site to protect it. He added “We do not trust Israel because treachery is its inherent nature.”

He underlined that the Mosque is not for Palestinians alone but rather for the entire Arabs and Muslims calling on all Arabs and Muslims to take part in defending their holy site.

The preacher predicted that growing pressures would lead to an explosion warning that “everything is possible in Jerusalem.”

For his part the director of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Omar Al-Kaswani said that approximately 705 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards on Wednesday morning.

Israeli police forces earlier imposed tight restrictions on Palestinians’ entry into the holy site and the Old City preventing the access of many Palestinians especially young people into the compound.
