OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Islamic Awkaf department in occupied Jerusalem said that it has foiled on Thursday an attempt by Jewish extremists belonging to the “Temple Mount Faithful” organization to storm the Aqsa mosque.
Members of the extremist organization carrying a replica of the alleged temple while they toured the area around the Magharba Gate.
Gershon Salomon leader of the extremist group told reporters that the building of the alleged temple on the ruins of the Aqsa Mosque is near and the work will be carried out by an imminent Israeli government after Olmert’s government failed in this respect.
On Thursday morning a group of extremist Jews invaded the Aqsa Plaza under Israeli occupation police protection they chanted slogans about the Jewishness of Jerusalem.
The Islamic Awkaf and the Aqsa Mosque guards prevented a similar invasion by members of the temple mount faithful.
