Dozens of Palestinian families of Church of Nativity’s deportees staged on Sunday morning a sit-in before the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem on the 15th anniversary of the church siege. The sit-in aimed at demanding the return of the deportees.
The PIC reporter said that a number of national figures participated in the event in which Palestinian flags and posters calling for the return of the deportees were hoisted.
The wife of deportee Abdullah Daoud who died in exile delivered a speech that demanded coming up with a solution to the issue of the deportees that would guarantee their return to their city before it is too late as happened with her husband.
Following a deal with the Palestinian Authority (PA) Israeli occupation authorities deported 39 resistance fighters out of the West Bank some to Gaza and others outside Palestine for a limited period after seizing the Church of Nativity for days. The IOA did not however abide by the agreement and the PA also did not follow up their issue.
