NABLUS (PIC)– Family of kidnapped Palestinian legislator and former head of the Palestine Scholars’ League Sheikh Hamid Al-Beitawi has expressed anxiety over the lawmaker’s health condition after the IOA decided to transfer him to the infamous Jalama jail.
Beitwai was kidnapped by the IOF troops along with 33 other elected officials and PA ministers affiliated with Hamas more than a week ago to join another 41 kidnapped Palestinian lawmakers and ministers kidnapped in June last year.
No condemnation to the Israeli illegal actions against those elected officials was registered as far as the international community is concerned.
Beitwai 63 suffers a number of chronic diseases including diabetes high blood pressure and heart problems; yet the IOA transferred him from one jail to another without paying any attention to his deteriorated health condition his family highlighted.
“This is a 100% political detention that reflects the IOA flip-flopping and clearly displays Israel’s savage policies that pay no respect to international laws and convention regarding elected officials” the family was furthermore quoted as saying.
In this context the family urged international and local human rights and legal institutions to follow up the case of the Sheikh as well as the tens of kidnapped Palestinian deputies and municipal mayors and members.
It also called on those organizations to bring the matter before the International Court of Justice so as to give the case more momentum.
More than 11000 Palestinian captives including hundreds of children and women among others are still languishing in 25 Israeli jails in the West Bank and the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands in harsh and inhuman conditions without the international community paying a bit of attention to their agonies.
