The family of a slain Palestinian businessman has called on human rights groups to pressure the Israeli authorities to release the body of Hamdan al-Arida who was cold-bloodedly killed by Israeli soldiers in al-Bireh city a week ago.
In a statement the family said that Israeli forces unjustifiably shot dead Hamdan on a road in al-Bireh city as he was driving home from his company and detained his body.
The Israeli occupation forces on Thursday December 13 shot dead Arida as he was driving his vehicle on a road during a raid on the industrial zone in the northern area of al-Bireh city in the occupied West Bank.
A number of eyewitnesses reported at the time that the incident had been merely a car accident as the driver saw the unexpected presence of Israeli soldiers in his way and attempted to turn away from them before they opened fire at him.
Arida owned an aluminum factory in al-Bireh and hailed from Araba a village near Jenin.
