OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Jerusalem-based Muslim youths’ society has warned Saturday against calls from fanatic Jewish rabbis on Israeli premier Ehud Olmert to allow them storm and desecrate the Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement it issued and a copy of which was faxed to the PIC the society affirmed that it was taking the rabbis calls seriously adding that the society along with Palestinian Jerusalemite citizens took all the necessary measures to defend the Mosque and to block any attempt to defile it.
In this regard the society called on Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem and in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands to march towards the Mosque in order to thwart any possible attack on it anticipating that Israeli attacks on the Mosque would increase in the coming days especially during the upcoming Jews Passover fiesta.
According to the Hebrew channel 7 news website the Jewish rabbis prepared everything to storm the Aqsa Mosque compound and to offer oblations inside it .
The website also unveiled that the rabbis urged Israeli premier Ehud Olmert to take “dramatic” step in desecrating the Aqsa Mosque as his predecessor Ariel Sharon did in the year 2000 when he was still a minister.
Sharon’s step sparked the Palestinian Aqsa intifada in which more than 4500 Palestinians and more than 1000 Israelis were killed in addition to thousands of wounded people from both sides.
