RAMALLAH (PIC)– More than 20 armed men of the “treason trend” in Fatah faction stormed the PA legislature building in Ramallah city Saturday afternoon and raised Fatah yellow banners on top of it after assaulting MP Hassan Khuraisha local sources affirmed.
According to eyewitnesses the second deputy-speaker of the legislature Khuraisha tried to block the attackers from destroying the people’s building but the vandals shrugged off his appeals and manhandled the lawmaker before dragging him out of the building.
Tens of the PLC employees rushed to Khuraisha’s help forcing the attackers to leave him.
Khuraisha who is an independent lawmaker but Hamas supported him in the PA legislative elections last year regretted security conditions in the Palestinian arena and called on all Palestinian parties to stop fighting in order to protect the Palestinian national venture.
Despite the physical assault on his person Khuraisha affirmed that he was and will remain firm on his stand of the unconstitutionality of the latest decrees issued by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas that dissolved the PA unity government and appointed an emergency cabinet.
In the same context tens of PA security men loyal to Abbas stormed the PA education ministry building which is located ten meters away from the PLC headquarters alleging they were searching for Hamas-affiliated employees.
But local sources in the area affirmed that no one of Hamas cadres was in the building at the time of the attack prompting the vandals to leave the building while randomly shooting in the air.
