Father Atallah Hanna Archbishop of the Palestinian Orthodox Church in Occupied Jerusalem has called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) to necessarily end its politically motivated persecution and detention of Palestinian national and intellectual figures.
He made his remarks during his meeting on Wednesday with Palestinian activists from different occupied Palestinian areas.
“We are saddened that some respected Palestinian figures are being exposed to unjustified and unacceptable persecution especially what has happened to professor Abdul-Sattar Qasem and professor Adel Samara” Father Hanna said.
“The political persecution of people we may disagree or agree with on some issues is unacceptable especially since there are intellectual cultural partisan and factional diversity in Palestine and such diversity is healthy and rational and serves our people and their just cause” he added.
