Father Manuel Musallam a noted Christian cleric in the occupied West Bank has applauded the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for their steadfastness in the face of Israel’s blockade and aggression.
In a recent interview conducted with him by the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) Father Musallam member of the Islamic Christian Authority for Advocating Jerusalem and holy sites expressed his belief that the March of Return rallies in Gaza is “a natural part of the Palestinian right to resist the occupation” describing the border protests as “a real state of engagement with the Israeli occupation forces.”
“These marches are our right and should continue in order not to lose our right to return and liberation of Palestine. If we were passive towards our right it would be gone and if did not resist we would lose our right to resist later” he underlined.
The Palestinian cleric also stressed that “the resistance is the law to confront the Israeli occupation” denouncing those who criticize the armed resistance against the occupation and call Gaza rockets futile.
“The Palestinian Authority has chained the Palestinian hand in the West Bank to prevent it from resisting the Israeli occupation and if this hand is let go great woes will befall Israel” he said.
