The Supreme Council of Religious Ruling (Fatwa) in Palestine warned Thursday of the Israeli ongoing excavations under al-Aqsa Mosque.
The ongoing Israeli excavations may lead to the collapse of al-Aqsa and the neighboring buildings at any moment the council warned.
The council called on the Islamic Nation to stand firmly against the Israeli escalated excavations and break-ins into the holy shrine.
The Fatwa council pointed out that Israeli provocative break-ins into al-Aqsa have notably increased after UNESCO’s resolution that denies any Jewish link to al-Aqsa.
The council also condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s participation in the excavations works under al-Aqsa Mosque.
“We call on the free world to act urgently to stop the Israeli excavations under and around al-Aqsa and to put an end to the escalated settlers’ break-ins into the holy shrine” the council said holding the Israeli authorities responsible for the implications of such violations.
On the other hand the council welcomed UNESCO’s resolution over al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem and denounced the Israeli attack on Bab al-Rahma cemetery.
