He said that such incidents were not conducive and extended his condolences to the families of both soldiers who were described by Hebrew press as members of the elite forces that are known for their assassination and murder of Palestinian resistance fighters and citizens.
Fayyad who holds an American citizenship declared that a Palestinian suspect was arrested over the attack and that Israeli soldiers’ weapons were returned to the IOF command.
He affirmed that PA security forces in the West Bank were cooperating with the Israelis.
For his part Peres appreciated PA security efforts and said that Palestinians should work to stop recurrence of such incidents.
