GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Ahmed Bahar the acting speaker of the PLC revealed that Salam Fayyad’s unconstitutional government had suspended the salaries of 21 MPs affiliated with the Hamas parliamentary bloc and also suspended the salaries of 36 PLC staff describing it as a “strange and distasteful step”.
PLC sources described the decision to suspend the salaries of MPS as “an extension of the policy of manipulation marginalization and blackmail practiced by Ramallah government against the Palestinian people”.
The same sources confirmed that such a decision can never affect the MP’s performance and work adding that it was not strange that those who relinquished Palestine and manipulated the Palestinian funds would steal employees’ salaries.
The sources suggested that the salaries of MPs should be paid from a special fund which is not under the control of the government that can use its powers to blackmail the legislators.
