NABLUS (PIC)– International Tadamun (solidarity) society for human rights said the health of Palestinian female prisoner Woroud Qasem in Hasharon jail has deteriorated very badly and she is suffering from severe pains in her joints.
Spokesman for Tadamun society Ahmed Al-Betawi reported that this female prisoner suffers from an acute vitamin deficiency especially vitamin D causing her severe joint pains and disabling her movement.
He noted that the prisoner received a blood test two weeks ago to know the reasons for this deficiency but she has not been given or told the results so far.
The spokesman expressed his belief that the cold sunless rooms inside Israeli jails and the bad quality of food served to female prisoners result in their suffering from vitamin D deficiency which causes the bones and joints to weaken and thus feel painful.
The spokesman pointed out that prisoner Qasim has been in prison since 2006 serving a six-year term and since her health worsened she has not been given any proper medical care.
