JENIN (PIC)– Large numbers of IOF troops backed by at least 30 military vehicles stormed on Tuesday night the West Bank city of Jenin and its nearby refugee camp sparking fierce clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters that extended till Wednesday morning.
According to Palestinian local sources the IOF troops advanced into the city from many directions and surrounded the refugee camp in a bid to arrest alleged resistance activists.
The sources also added that Palestinian resistance fighters in the camp blocked the incursion and engaged the IOF troops in fierce armed clashes in and around the camp although a number of Palestinian homes in the camp were raided and ransacked by those troops who terrorized sleeping children and women in the process.
According to the sources the armed clashes lasted for several hours and extended till Wednesday morning as Palestinian fighters from the Quds Brigades the armed wing of Islamic Jihad and the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades armed wing of Fatah declared they succeeded in detonating a number of planted roadside bombs in IOF vehicles.
The two armed wings also took the credit for jointly exploding another roadside bomb in an IOF military jeep north of the city asserting in a military communiqué they issued and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC that the Palestinian attacks on IOF troops were natural responses to the relentless Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Around six Palestinian youths including two brothers of Palestinian Islamic Jihad martyr Mahmoud Tawalba were rounded up at the hands of those troops the sources further revealed.
On the International Labor Day on Tuesday the IOF troops killed a Palestinian laborer from the Jalabon village east of Jenin after chasing him inside the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands. The victim was identified as Rabie Mohammed Fayez Abu Al-Rub 23 who was working in the occupied Golan Heights.
Israeli occupation police chased Abu Rub alleging he had no working permit before the Palestinian youth fell into a deep well and died.
Father of Abu Al-Rub demanded his son’s body to bury him but the Israeli occupation police refused to answer the request alleging they want to carry out an autopsy on the body.
In Gaza Strip the Nasser Salahuddin Brigades armed wing of the PRC announced that its fighters fired four homemade missiles at two IOF military bases east of the Strip.
The group also emphasized that the attack falls in line with the Palestinian people’s right to self-defense and in retaliation to the persistent IOF troops’ aggressions on the Palestinian people.
