Fisherman wounded by Israeli navy north of Gaza

Sunday 15-January-2017

One Palestinian fisherman suffered bullet injuries when the Israeli occupation navy on Saturday afternoon opened fire at fishing boats off the northern coast of the Gaza Strip.

Chief of the fishermen Nizar Ayyash told Quds Press that one fisherman suffered four rubber bullet injuries as he was working off the shores of Beit Lahia north of Gaza and was transferred to a local hospital.

Ayyash added that the shooting forced the fishermen to return ashore.

Earlier a citizen suffered a live bullet injury in the leg when soldiers opened fire at him during his presence on his land east of Beit Lahia.

Since the end of the 2014 war on Gaza the Israeli army has violated its Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal with the resistance by repeatedly carrying out shooting attacks against Palestinian civilians working on their land or at sea to earn their living.
