Five Palestinian youths were injured on Thursday after being shot with rubber-coated bullets by Israeli soldiers in the village of Ras Karkar near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
The attack occurred when dozens of local residents participated in a non-violent protest against Israeli plans to confiscate lands in the village where Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated steel rounds at them.
Speaking to the Quds Press the member of the village council Mohammed Abu Fakhida said that Israeli forces violently supressed the peaceful protest and prevented the participants to reach the confiscated land.
Medical sources affirmed that at least five injuries were reported among the protesters.
Minister Walid Assaf chairman of the Commission against the Wall and Settlements and one of his escorts were among the injured persons.
