The Palestinian health ministry on Thursday reported five new deaths associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus) and 823 new positive tests in the West Bank Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip during the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry’s daily report three of the new victims who died of the virus are from different areas of the West Bank and two from Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
40 critically ill COVID-19 patients are reportedly receiving intensive care in hospitals and 11 of them have been placed on ventilators.
88.3 percent of the total cases have recovered from the disease while the rate of active cases has reached 10.9 percent and the rate of deaths is 0.8 percent of the total cases.
