Five new COVID-19 cases confirmed in West Bank

Five coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were confirmed in the West Bank on Sunday raising the total number of infections to 560 Palestinian Authority’s Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila announced.

Al-Kaila said that the new infected patients have been in close contact with a Palestinian workman who tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

Meanwhile the last COVID-19 patient in Tulkarem has fully recovered and the district is now empty of cases.

Generally the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the Palestinian territories is 103 including 59 in Jerusalem 8 in the outskirts of Jerusalem 30 in al-Khalil 2 in Nablus and 4 in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Kaila urged Palestinian citizens to abide by the safety measures introduced by the Health Ministry and avoid social gatherings.

She also called on the Palestinian men who work in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1948 to follow the rules of home-quarantine.
