Following Biden’s departure Israeli airstrikes rock Gaza

Saturday 16-July-2022

Israeli warplanes attacked two resistance sites in the besieged Gaza Strip with dozens of missiles at dawn Saturday.

According to local sources at least 10 air-to-surface missiles struck at dawn a resistance site in al-Bayader area in the southwest of Gaza City.

Later the Israeli occupation army launched an aerial attack with at least three missiles on ash-Shuhada site in the west of al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

During the airstrikes the Palestinian resistance fired its anti-aircraft guns at the warplanes.

Meanwhile Israeli gunboats fired machinegun fire at Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the northern coast of Gaza forcing them to return ashore.

A spokesperson for the Israeli army claimed the dawn airstrikes targeted an underground facility for the production of rocket materials in central Gaza in response to rocket fire from Gaza last night.

For its part the Hamas Movement has condemned the launch of aerial attacks on Gaza immediately following US president Joe Biden’s visit to Occupied Palestine saying the aggression reflected the size of the American support and encouragement that Israel receives to persist in its aggression and crimes against the Palestinian people.

In press remarks spokesman for the Movement Fawzi Barhoum accused new Israeli premier Yair Lapid of desperately trying to prove to the Israeli society that he is able to restore the lost deterrence that was hit repeatedly by the Palestinian resistance.

The spokesman applauded the resistance fighters for their immediate anti-aircraft response to the Israeli aggression affirming that the resistance would always remain the protective shield for the Palestinian people.
